The current release at a glance
With SAP S/4HANA 2025 (released on October 8, 2025), SAP introduces its most powerful and intelligent ERP system to date.
Numerous innovations in AI (SAP Joule), Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Clean Core, and Sustainability ensure greater efficiency, transparency, and automation.
With the latest Feature Pack Stack 01 (FPS01, March 2026), AI is integrated even deeper into core processes.
Why S/4HANA 2025?
With Release 2025, SAP continues its two-year update cycle (following 2021, 2022, 2023). Thanks to 7 years of mainstream maintenance, it remains stable long-term – until the next major release, S/4HANA 2027 (planned Q4 2027).
Note: Many AI functions (e.g., SAP Joule) are provided cloud-side via SAP BTP; the functional, UX, and development innovations are also available on-premise.

SAP S/4HANA Release History
Until 2019, SAP used four-digit version numbers like 1511, 1610, 1709 – these represent the Year + Month of the release (e.g., 1511 = November 2015).
Since S/4HANA 2020, releases happen every two years, named after the calendar year (2020, 2021, …).
Feature Pack Stacks (FPS) deliver additional functionalities between major releases.
